I felt a little sad yesterday, as we said goodbye to our Fall 2021 season. It has been a wonderful season for us, but sadly spoiled by the awful rainstorm and flooding that has caused so much damage to our beautiful province and suffering for so many people. I hope we can all recover soon. Despite all of this, I believe my class was a cheerful place to be on a Saturday fall afternoon with everyone having a fun time preparing and cooking the dishes from my most popular class, Thai Classic Flavours. Once again on the menu was: Thai Spring Rolls, Phad Thai Noodles, Coconut Soup, Red Curry and Mixed Vegetables with Cashew Nuts.

A FEAST OF FLAVOURS TO SAVOUR
This class is a wonderful potpourri of tastes and aromas guaranteed to delight everyone. Mekong Salad Rolls, packed with shrimps, fresh mint and pork, are a challenge for students to roll on their own — but they always manage to do it! Then there’s the Tiger Prawn Salad with Snow Peas, accompanied by the Leaf-Wrapped Chicken, a very traditional dish in this region. Don’t get me started, though, on the BBQ pork, marinated in my special sauce, and the Thai Chicken Noodle Soup. It all finished up with mango and black rice for dessert.

A Kallayanee’s Kitchen Success Story
Here’s how Dawnna shared her experience with us last Saturday:

“We had such a great time sharing your home and kitchen. Everyone was thrilled to learn and eat. I have already made the soup and I think Kallayanees would be quite proud of my results!!! The report was delicious.”

Dawnna purchased her private class months before the pandemic locked everything down and so she had to wait many months after that before we were able to host her and her family. We are so pleased that they were finally able to join us!

Wrote Dawnna again: “I purchased this cooking class for my family because there is nothing better than a gift that — GIFTS you time and memories together. It's too easy to buy things you don't need just for the sake of buying and put them on the shelf. My thought, therefore, was to create time and memories together? I think I became the Feast, so to speak, creating memories through time and food.”

Thank you and you family for coming to a class with us. We look forward to hosting you all again!

THAI CLASSIC FAVOURITES

I never knew nurses could have so much fun! But last Friday, I learned the truth. Nurses can have more fun that just about anybody. Dee Woolman organized a pack of them for my all-time most popular class, Thai Classic Favourites. Along for the class were: Dee, Deanna, Renée, Kristy, Lisa, and Ann. As usual, this class included all of the most popular Thai dishes in the west: Thai Spring Rolls, Phad Thai Noodles, Coconut Soup, Red Curry and Mixed Vegetables with Cashew Nuts.#thaicooking #thaicookingclass #thaicookingschool

DRUNKEN NOODLE PARTY
Friends, Food and Fun!

On Thursday, this week, I celebrated another birthday party! But this time the party was in celebration of not just one person, but two!
Good thing organizer Shannon Jackson had the good sense to order my popular Thai Drunken Noodles Party. It’s a great choice for people who are looking to have a very good time — and they certainly did.
As she wrote: “The Drunken Noodle Party made for a fun and fulfilling afternoon!'"
This class has some of the most popular and tasty dishes of Thailand, including: Thai Prawn Cakes, Beef and Basil Stir-Fry, Drunken Noodles, Chicken with Rice and Dipping Sauce, and Hot & Spicy Vegetables.

And, as always, the dishes included: Thai Spring Rolls, Phad Thai Noodles, Red Curry, Coconut Soup and Mixed Vegetables with Cashew Nuts.
